San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico

After spending the night in Mazatlan, we drove south through San Blas. This tiny seaside community has earned the affection of many surfers with the longest rideable wave in North America. Unfortunately, it is also plagued with sand fleas and swarms of mosquitoes, thanks to its location alongside mangrove forest. We stopped at a beachside restaurant for coconuts, pinadas, and the best ceviche I've tasted on this entire trip! Before the sun set and the bugs descended, we hightailed it to the highway.
