La Paz, Baja, Mexico

La Paz is a great Mexican city of 220,000 inhabitants situated on the Sea of Cortes. It boasts a wonderful malecon or beachside boardwalk which is just perfect for eating an ice cream on a hot spring day. As we wandered, we were awed by the massive blue whale skeleton on display at El Museo de las Ballenas. We stopped for fish tacos at one of the restaurants along the boardwalk and were rewarded with some savoury shrimp and sierra. Yummy!
