Botanical Gardens, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

After a few months of camping in the desert of the Baja, a visit to the Botanical Gardens outside Mismaloya are in order. We hiked along the trails and down to the river of cool, clear water for an afternoon swim. The girls had great fun swimming against the current and trying to get close to the rapids flowing over rocks upstream. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the restaurant and the girls learned all about the coffee, cocoa, and vanilla bean plants that grow amidst the jungle landscape from Uncle Alan who is the resident biologist.
